[ Mine: orange straw w/ light marshmallows & Michael’s: pink straw w/ heavy marshmallows ]

Everyone has weird things that make them happy. Mixing my own hot chocolate on a rainy day may not seem entertaining, but it was something that I really, sincerely enjoyed [ I know…I’m strange ]. Here are some other things that make me happy:

  • Keeping “Worry dolls” hidden around my room.
  • Pixy, when she does her morning stretch.
  • Making my to-do list pretty [ even if no one sees it but me ].
  • The smell of matches.
  • My grandma’s laugh.
  • Fresh sheets.
  • The new Kaskade CD.
  • My new blog signature [ see below ; ) ].
What’s something weird that brings a smile to your face?

Spicy Homemade Hot Chocolate

[ Recipe adapted from The Fitness Dish ]

** Makes two mugs

1 1/2 tablespoon of raw cacao [ or unsweetened cocoa powder ]

1/2 tablespoon of carob powder [ optional ]

10 ounces of unsweetened vanilla Tempt hemp milk [ non-fat milk works too ]

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 pinch of nutmeg

2 drops of liquid Stevia [ or maple syrup ]

Mini marshmallow [ I sprinkled about 15 on mine ]

Place milk and all of the chocolate  in a saucepan and whisk. Add vanilla, spices and sweetener and continue to whisk frequently until it’s steaming. Transfer to mugs with a straw for stirring & some marshmallows for added taste.
