Since we’re doing the cleanse together, I found it fitting to interview my favorite girls who I workout with on the reg. Above you’ll see Sara [ her cute blog is found here ] was featured on Vecko’s magazine cover- I’m so proud of her! As for the cleanse: day 2 is so much easier than day 1- I feel incredibly energized. So…let’s talk everything healthy:
+ Secret skinny tip:
Bri: flavor my water…usually with lemons from my parent’s tree but any fresh fruit works!
Elena: when I want to feel skinny fast, I up my circuit training to four times a week, cut out carbs past 4 pm, & get rid of alcohol.
Sara: start in the morning! Once I start off my day with a healthy lean breakfast & get a workout in, then I usually want to make sure I keep it going throughout the day.
+ Best workout ever?
B: beach workouts with our group! Not only does the fresh air and ocean view encourage me, but it’s always motivating to be around a fit and happy group of people! When you have a workout buddy [ or 4 ] it keeps you held accountable because you’re sticking to a routine.
E: I love, love my workout group; we use quick paced curcuit training. This includes leg lifts, dips, frog jumps, push-ups, & various abdominal exercises. To clear my mind, running is my go-to workout.
S: I love working out outdoors with a great group of girls who can motivate each other. I think it is extremely important to change up how you exercise and being outdoors gives you a lot of variety and to top it off, you get tan!
+ How to look thin immediately…?
B: if I know I have something that I want to look my best for I always dedicate a workout that is a for sure ass-kicker at least once a day, for an hour like a yoga sculpt class at Core Power Yoga. I also try to stick to more of a vegetarian based diet as best I can & drink TONS of naturally flavored H2O!
S: go get a spray tan and then wear black.
+ Health snack choice:
B: I eat plain yogurt everyday as a snack. I love to add organic honey & cinnamon to it and depending on my day I will dip my apples in it or add some fruit or a bit of granola. Not only do I enjoy the taste, but yogurt is filled with probiotics which is very beneficial to the bod.
E: veggies! They full you up and provide me with energy. Turkey is always a heathy snack too.
S: ahh- I have a few faves! Carrots + hummus, apple slices with natural peanut butter, & fresh berries.
+ Biggest vice:
B: coffee…I love the taste & could seriously drink it all day long, it’s a problem!
E: alcohol! Drinking drinking puts weight on fast.
S: having a boyfriend who loves to eat pizza, burgers, & burritos on the daily, haha.
+ Favorite slimming, black cocktail LBD:
B: I can’t even answer that…especially because I wear too much black, I love to accessorize. But I always think about Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, she made the LBD as timeless! So, I always think simple, sexy with a little bit of back and some leg but something that will compliment your favorite part of your body; neck, chest, booty, etc. But again, just choose maybe only one thing to show off- it’s much more chic.
E: love this long, sexy maxi dress.
S: this low-cut tight peplum bandage dress from NastyGal. It cuts perfectly making it look slimmer at the waist.
+ Fave cocktail?
B: white wine.
E: vodka soda, 60 calories. Do not get confused by vodka tonic, that can be up to 150 calories girls! Stick with the simple stuff.
S: my absolute favorite drink is a vodka soda with lime!
+ After workout you feel…
E: after I work out I can feel the endorphins. It’s an after-sex kinda feeling- calming & energizing all at the same time ; ).
+ One word to describe our workout group:
S: wow! There are way too many words that describe our group, but if I had to pick one I would say CRAZY.
