Let’s just say that loving pasta seems to be a universal thing. A week ago I tweeted about a healthier pasta I discovered- it’s filled with protein, contains tons of vitamins, & is lower on carbs [ typically pastas have 45 grams per serving, this one is 35 grams ]. I could not believe how many of you responded my tweet! So I knew I had to let you all in on this little gem ASAP. Also, included below are the nutrition facts & my favorite store bought, Rao’s spicy sauce [ all-natural ingredients ]. Throwing a handful of veggies in the sauce to add flavor & nutrients is another healthy addition.
Oh, this post is not saying to eat pasta seven nights a week. Moderation, moderation, moderation!
Protein Packed, Low-Carb Pasta
++ Serves two.
1 box Jovial pasta [ found at a health food store or here ]
1 cup of Rao’s Homemade Arrabbiata sauce
Handful of broccolini
Handful of diced onions
2 tablespoons of EVOO
1/2 handful of shredded carrots
1 lemon
1 sprinkle of fresh Parmesan cheese
Boil water on stovetop. Add pasta to boiling water. In a separate pan, sauté onions & EV olive oil for about five minutes. Cook pasta through and drain through a pasta strainer. Add sauce, broccolini, & shredded carrots to the pan with onions. Pour pasta back in the pasta pan without water. Add sauce to pasta pan. Mix together and then serve on a portion controlled plate. Squeeze lemon on top & sprinkle fresh cheese. Enjoy!
Amazon has lots of their product too!! Free shipping. 🙂
